- An IKEA store in Beijing, China is having little success in dissuading shoppers from sleeping on its furniture in stores.
- Although staff members have been instructed to inform shoppers that they are not permitted to sleep on showroom furniture, one such member says this is proving difficult given that many of these snoozers are old people and children.
- In 1998, IKEA opened the first of its 13 stores in China, which is reportedly one of its fastest growing markets.
