Studies show that drinking coffee is associated with longer life!

Studies show that drinking coffee can significantly reduce the chance of dying from causes including heart disease, cancer, stroke and diabetes!

  • Well, it looks like I’m going to live forever, then!
  • According to the largest study of its kind, drinking coffee can significantly reduce the chance of dying from causes including heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, and kidney disease!
  • The 16-year study was conducted among 520,000 people in 10 European countries, and 185,000 African-Americans, Japanese-Americans and Latinos.
  • The results? Those who drank one cup of coffee (approx 250ml) had a 12 percent lower risk of death, whereas people who drank 3 or more cups had an 18 percent lower risk of lethal ailments!
  • Thankfully, for those sensitive to caffeine, there appears to be no advantage between drinking decaf or caffeinated coffee, as the benefits are believed to exist in the antioxidant plant compounds in coffee.
  • The study has been published in the Annals of Internal Medicine.
  • Some interesting facts: By volume, the Danes drink the most coffee per day (900ml), with the Italians the least.
  • Do you know how much coffee the characters on ‘Friends’ consumed over 10 seasons? Who do you think drank the most? Find out here.
