Rebekah Brooks cleared of phone hacking charges

Rebekah Brooks has been cleared of phone hacking, corruption and conspiracy charges stemming from the News of the World scandal.

  • Rebekah Brooks, former chief executive of News International, the publisher of News of the World, has been cleared of phone hacking, conspiracy and corruption charges.
  • It is rumoured that Rebekah may return to the Australian arm of News Corp.
  • Rebekah resigned and took a payout of approx $20m at the peak of the News of the World phone hacking scandal.
