Hit and run driver flees screaming girlfriend

New Jersey man confesses to police that he hit a utility pole then fled the scene to escape his screaming girlfriend

  • A New Jersey man confessed to police that he backed into a utility pole, but then fled the scene because he didn’t want to deal with his screaming girlfriend.
  • The caller who reported the hit and run states she heard people yelling and then a bang. It was at this point that David Scarpa fled, failing to report the incident.
  • David has been charged with reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
