• Hundreds of policeman were called to a protest by the Anti-Muslim English Defence League, where they clashed with Unite Against Fascism in Walthamstow, London.
• Hipster Cop was photographed by Guy Smallman, who then tweeted the picture which became an instant meme sensation.
• Many people then took to Twitter to mock the notoriously pretentious subculture, noting Hipster Cop’s use of artesian pepper on protesters, and his looking forward to an Earl Grey or soy flat white once the ‘kerfuffle’ was over, among other things.
