The Santa Claus Office in Finland is 1 week away from bankruptcy!
The tourist attraction is billed as the official hometown of Santa Claus, offering visitors the chance to meet Santa, visit his post office, play with elves and eat ‘reindeer sausage’.
It’s reported the office owes $224,000 in taxes, which is most of its debt. Business has declined due to the downturn in neighbouring European economies, such as Russia, Italy, Greece and Spain, who are all suffering from their own economic problems.
- It’s reported that Finland is in its 4th year of economic contraction, driven in part by Nokia’s troubles and the aging of its population.
Here’s hoping Santa finds some money!
