Ammo shortage forces Dutch soldiers to imitate gun sounds!

It’s reported that an ammunition shortage has forced Dutch soldiers to imitate the sound of firing their weapons in shooting drills by shouting ‘Bang! Bang!’.

  • It’s reported that an ammunition shortage has forced Dutch soldiers to imitate the sound of firing their weapons in shooting drills by shouting ‘Bang! Bang!’.
  • According to a Defence Ministry email seen by Dutch broadcaster RTL, the Dutch army has long suffered from a shortage of ammunition, but the situation is dire at present.
  • The Dutch Government has reportedly increased its defence budget from €7.6b in 2014 to €8b in 2015, with ammunition stockpiles to be replenished once funding becomes available.
