• With Google announcing it will end the Explorer program for ‘Glass’ and cease sales of the current version to consumers, questions are being asked of the controversial technology’s future.
• Although many professionals (doctors & engineers etc) saw potential, Google Glass was often criticised because of the silent manner in which it can capture audio, pictures and video in social settings. For those who recall, some were even assaulted for wearing the technology!!
• The fact that Google Glass has been moved out of Google X labs and into its own standalone division is a good sign that Google has not shelved Glass.
• For now, though – what do you think? Will Glass return better than ever, or will it be confined to the failed ‘good on paper’ inventions, such as ‘Smell-O-Vision’?
