Video-gaming will soon be an official sport in Russia!

Good news, gamers! The Russian Ministry of Sport has included competitive video-gaming as an official sport of the country!
As ‘sport professionals’, Russian gamers will be treated the same as cyclists, football players etc, and can even apply for sponsorship and compete for official athlete ranks such as ‘Master of Sport of the Russian Federation’.
As yet, ‘cybersport’ has not been broken down into official disciplines, leaving much to interpretation.
The announcement was made on June 8, and will come into effect 10 days from this date.
