- A thief has been jailed after he was caught red-handed by a hidden camera used to capture footage for a film about the life of urban foxes.
- The urban wildlife camera was installed by BBC Springwatch host Simon King, and streamed live to his wildlife website.
- Batton was arrested after numerous locals identified him in a CCTV image released by police.
- It’s reported that Nigel Batton could be seen climbing over a fence and making an attempt to open a door before walking off.
- A scarf reportedly belonging to Batton was found at the scene, and that the same cardigan worn by the burglar in the footage was recovered from Batton’s home.
- Batton was jailed for 4-and-a-half years for burglary and attempted burglary.
