- Russian government watchdog Roskomnadzor has banned memes that “do not represent the personality” of the celebrities they mock, such as those which lampoon Vladimir Putin.
- In a message posted to Russian social media site VKontake, it was clarified that using images of celebrities in such a way harms the “honour, dignity and business of public figures”.
- According to The Russian Post, a person can report an offending image to Roskomnadzor, who will then give the website the option of blocking the offending content, or have its entire site blocked across the country!
