A student driver was in the middle of a lesson when she saw officers trying to flag down a vehicle, so she stopped and drove the officers to a place that enabled them to apprehend a suspect!
-
It’s reported that police were initially chasing the suspect on foot when they “lost sight of the chap”.
-
When the man’s location was revealed by a member of the public, officers at Chessington patrol base answered the call – but they didn’t have a car, so they ran for 1.2 miles (1.9km) before flagging down the student driver who “drove safely” and “remained calm” throughout the drive.
-
Police were able to make the arrest, but are now seeking details of the unidentified driver/instructor to say thank you.
