- The Melbourne Demons won a 1-point thriller over the Essendon Bombers yesterday at the MCG.
- The Dees came back from 33 points down to take the lead with just 15 seconds remaining. Many starred on the day, but Lynden Dunn was a resounding and much needed force in the backline.
- The win added extra pain to a tough week for the Bombers, who remain embroiled with the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority and may have also lost captain, Jobe Watson for possibly the rest of the season due to leg surgery.
