• German man Sven Hagemeier broke the Guinness World Record for longest birthday by flying across time zones to celebrate August 4, 2014 for 46 hours!
• Sven is said to have set the record by flying from Auckland, New Zealand to Brisbane Australia and then across the International Date Line to Honolulu, Hawaii where he his wife was waiting.
• It’s reported that Sven spent much of the time eating airline food and only managed to squeeze in 90 minutes of sightseeing in New Zealand thanks to a helpful cabbie.
• Sven’s record breaks the previous birthday record of 35 hours 25 minutes set by Nargis Bhimji from Pakistan.
