Kaspersky discovers Onion malware

Onion malware deletes files after a countdown if a ransom isn't paid. The

  • Kaspersky Lab has discovered ‘Onion’, being the successor to the malware Cryptlocker Ransom.
  • Onion only affects Windows PC’s, and encrypts files and starts a countdown that lasts for 72 hours after which all files and folders are deleted forever if a random isn’t paid.
