- When Reza Baluchi was rescued off the coast of Florida, he was disoriented and asking for directions to Bermuda.
- Reza departed commenced his journey with protein bars, bottled water, GPS and a satellite phone, and ignored earlier advice to turn around and abort the dangerous mission.
- Although Reza succumbed to exhaustion, he was reported to be otherwise unhurt.
