- Germany destroyed Brazil in a hail of goals, defeating the host nation 7-1 to progress to the 2014 World Cup final.
- Goals were scored by Thomas Muller, Miroslav Klose, Toni Kroos (2), Sami Khedira and Andre Schurrle (2).
- Klose’s goal made him the record scorer in World Cup history, at 17 goals – surpassing Ronaldo’s record of 16 goals.
- Germany will now face the winner of the Argentina v Netherlands game in the final.
