• Fans have voted to banish the thimble from future versions of Monopoly, with all 8 tokens to be revealed on 19 March.
• In January, the game’s maker, Hasbro Inc., commenced a fan voting process called Monopoly Token Madness to select all 8 tokens for future versions of the game.
• Some of the possible replacements include flip flops and a monster truck.
• Of the original pieces from the game’s introduction in 1935, only the Battleship, the Boot and the Top Hat remain.
• The Iron was another of the original tokens, but it was booted off in 2013.
