  • You want MORE?

  • Damon Albarn (of Blur, Gorillaz fame etc) gave exactly that at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark when he refused to leave the stage and had to be physically removed at 4am, after a 5-hour set!

  • At the time, his Africa Express project just finished playing the Clash’s “Should I Stay or Should I go?”

  • Egged on by Damon, the crowd kept chanting “we want more”. After a bit of back and forth, a burly security guard lifted Damon off the ground and carried him off stage – which was met by resounding booing from the crowd.

  • Africa Express project is collaboration between African & Western musicians. At the event, Damon collaborated with Nick Zinner (from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and Laura Mvula among others.
