Bruges to get a BEER PIPELINE!

A 2-mile beer pipeline is being built to pump beer (at 4,000 litres/hour) from De Halve Maan Brewery to a bottling plant outside of Brussels!

  • A 2-mile pipeline is being built to pump beer (at 4,000 litres/hour) from De Halve Maan Brewery to a bottling plant outside the city, so that trucks don’t have to navigate around the city’s small cobblestone streets (it’s not for ‘tap-in-points’, sorry!)
  • The $4.5 million pipeline was financed by a crowdfunding campaign at the request of Xavier Vanneste, whose family has run the brewery for 160 years.
  • The return? Beer! One donor contributed $11,000 & will now get free beer for life!
  • As for this pic, this is what happens when your beer pipeline pic goes wrong!
