- Black Friday sales across the UK yesterday turned ugly with police called to quell ‘war zones’ in Dundee, Glasgow, Cardiff and London among others.
- Arrests were made in relation to reports of fighting in a 300-strong crowd, masses who refused to leave stores when told stock had run out, and a man who threatened to ‘smash a staff member’s face in’.
- A woman was injured when she was hit by a falling TV and a Tesco employee reportedly finished his shift with a black eye.
- The sales originate from the US, with this being the first year many street stores participated.
