Text-walkers are SAFE!?

Academics at the University of Bath and Texas USA say 'text-walkers' have developed a 'protective shuffle' to lower the risk of potential accidents.

  • People who text & walk are SAFE?

  • Academics at the University of Bath and Texas USA say ‘text-walkers’ have developed a ‘protective shuffle’ to lower the risk of potential accidents.

  • According to the study, texting causes people to slow down and make exaggerated movements to negotiate crowds and compensate for diminished vision.

  • In a walking task undertaken as part of the study, texters took 26% longer to complete the obstacle course, but managed to step over & around things!
