Nail varnish to prevent date rape.

  • Four Science and Engineering students from North Carolina State University developed a nail varnish called “Undercover Colours” that changes colour when in the presence of date rape drugs, such as Rohypnol & GHB. 
  • The team said they were inspired to create the product when they learned an estimated one in five American women suffer sexual assault in their lifetime.
  • The premise is that women can test their drinks by giving it a quick stir with a finger.
