Japan urges citizens to stockpile toilet paper

Japanese citizens urged to stockpile toilet paper

  • Japan’s government has urged its citizens to stockpile toilet paper as 40 percent of the country’s supply comes from Shizuoka, one of Japan’s most earthquake-prone zones.
  • The Government further warned that shortages of about a month could be experienced if an earthquake hit the area.
  • Emergency toilet paper consisting of tightly wound 150-metre rolls with a 5-year expiration date has been marketed as part of the exercise.
