Google patents creepy toy to record your children!

Google has patented plans for a creepy toy that would encourage and record a child’s interaction and possibly send the collected data to Google HQ.

  • Google has patented plans for a creepy toy that would encourage and record a child’s interaction and possibly send the collected data to Google HQ.
  • It’s reported that the toy was designed by designer Richard Wayne DeVaul to include microphones, cameras, speakers and motors, and has been patented for 3 years.
  • Richard explained that the toy would encourage interaction from children for the purpose of providing data that the toy could record to Google’s servers.
  • Such prompts reportedly include the toy furrowing its brow, tilting its head to express curiosity and turning its head to make eye contact with the child.
  • However, a Google spokesperson told BBC that not all patent applications translate into real products and that prospective product announcements should not be inferred from such patent applications.
