Stuffed toys are big business in Japan…
-
Now there’s a bed and breakfast style cafe where you can send your stuffed toys for food, a game of cards and ghost stories!
- It works like this: you mail your stuffed toys to Yawarakan’s, where your stuffed toy will eat, play card games and have a story read to it before bedtime. The stuffed toy is then posted back to you the next day.
- It’s reported that Yawarakan’s will serve your stuffed toy a real berry smoothie, followed by a rice omelette and a pancake stack for dessert – which are cooked by chefs Hebi-chan the snake and Karei the flounder. The food is served by the monkey waiter Saru Hasegawa.
- The chefs and waiter are also stuffed toys.
