Franz Ferdinand – Assassinated 100 years today

‌• On 28 June 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated by Gavrilo Princip while visiting Sarajevo.

‌• While this did not directly cause World War 1, it provided an opportunity to leaders in Vienna and Berlin to alter the balance of power in Europe.

‌• World War 1 commenced on 28 July 1914 and ended on 11 November 1918.
