- A new bug dubbed ‘Shell Shock’ is claimed to be worse than Heartbleed, a bug found earlier this year that affected almost every device.
- Shell Shock is said to enable hackers to exploit a vulnerability in ‘Bash’, the Unix shell used by millions of computers, web servers and internet-connected devices such as light bulbs and thermostats!
- Using the exploit, a hacker could take control of a device such as a web camera or web server and use it to steal information.
- It’s said that as the bug allows for remote-command execution, it’s the worst class of bug. Bash is one of the few applications that is integrated everywhere.
