- Police in Troy, Michigan have interviewed 6 cats for the newly created position of Police Cat.
- Police officers spent a day petting and observing 5 kittens and a 1-year-old cat, which were provided by the Michigan Humane Society.
- Troy Police are looking for a sociable cat that can interact with the community.
- Despite making public appearances, the Police Cat will not live in the building, as it will go home with an officer every night.
- The cats not selected for the position will go up for adoption.
- Troy Police contemplated a non-K-9 officer for several years, but only put the plan into action in March when they vowed to get a cat if they got 10,000 Twitter Followers by April (a jump of 6,000 followers), which they did.
