• Too lazy to plank? Don’t have the moves for the Harlem Shake? Good news, the new internet obsession is the Mannequin Challenge, where participants stand still in a pose, as if they’re a mannequin.
• According to Mashable the first video was posted on 26 October by high schoolers, in which the high school students strike various poses in class. Many schools have followed.
• Naturally the craze has extended to celebrities, with Destiny’s Child, the New York Giants and the hosts of Good Morning America freezing in time to join in the fun.
• Many the videos are set to the song Black Beatles by Rae Sremmurd. Yep this is actually a thing and I’ve linked to some of the videos below.
