Scotland votes on whether to become an independent nation

Millions of Scots have voted YES or NO to whether Scotland should stay part of the United Kingdom or become an independent nation.
Although the vote is reported to be too close to call, a poll taken on the eve of the referendum had NO at 51 percent and YES at 49 percent.
A result is expected Friday morning Scotland time.
